My Approach
I want to understand how people find ways to make meaning out of suffering, foster strength within despair and what it means to be resilient. Having endured depression in my teenage years myself, I often sought ways to resolve the pain I experienced through external and often unhealthy avenues. I did not realize it then, but I was only worsening my pain by ignoring it having never been taught how to feel my feelings, express my feelings or that it was safe to express (with the right person). Along my journey, I have come to discover that when I accept myself just as I am, then only I can change.
The holistic approach is strengths-based, inclusive, and collaborative. I will consider all your uniqueness: your individual characteristics and identity, needs, strengths, physical and cognitive abilities, spiritual beliefs, cultural background, and motivations in my approach. Change can occur; I have seen it over and over again even for the most persistent instances of despair. I have found that, as Heraclitus, an ancient Greek philosopher, said "The only constant in life is change" suggesting we have the power in shaping our future. Change is inevitable. The direction in which that change occurs, however, is within your control. If you are ready to answer the call to adventure and uncover your true and real self, let's get in touch. It starts with you.

Fully engaging in the therapeutic process can help people thrive in their personal and professional lives. It’s amazing how when things change inside of us, they begin to change around us too.

My Specialties
People often start therapy due to a specific emotional, behavioral, or cognitive issue or patterns they are trying to improve, or let go. The common thread is that people, and moreover their relationships, are tired of the way things are; and they are ready for a change. More often than not, people wait until they reach the point of feeling or becoming self-destructive, before they reach out for support. At Soul Psychology, it is important to me that you work with a counsellor who is able to work with your unique needs.
